Why Study at Regent College

  1. Our Track Record

The Regent School has built a reputation as the best provider of a British education in Abuja. Our high standard of education is evidenced by our IGCSE results which are consistently outstanding.

Overall, 97 % of the Class of 2016 achieved A* to C grades in 5 subjects. 96 % of the students achieved A* to C grades in at least seven subjects. More than 50% percent of the total number of grades achieved were A*s and A grades.  Seventy-five percent of the students earned A*s, As and B grades.

We also have a diverse student body with over 14 countries represented, including America, United Kingdom and France. Our students are learning to become global citizens as they develop international mindsets within a realistic context.

The Regent College is building on the success of The Regent Schools, continuing its tradition of excellence.

  1. Financial Sense

A student enrolled in a pre-university college in the UK would be paying close to #30,000 per annum. The Regent College is offering the same quality international education at half the price. Sending your child to The Regent College is good financial sense.

  1. Preparation

Students who go overseas to study at an early age face a culture shock as they experience an immersion in a value system that is almost diametrically opposed to what they are used to. In many cases, these students are ill-prepared for the new level of freedom they are entitled to. Without adequate preparation, students are unable to withstand negative cultural influences that undermine our values. The Regent College provides an awareness programme for students to prepare them to live as undergraduates in a foreign country. Using scenarios and case studies, students will be sensitized about undergraduate life, and equipped with the skills to handle challenges and peer pressure.

  1. Our Programme

The Regent College offers a variety of programmes that students can choose from. We cater to individual preferences, and offer counselling support for students to help them make informed career and university destination choices.

Our History

The Regent Primary School was founded in 2000 in order to provide a British style education of high quality to Nigerian children and children of expatriates living and working in the growing city of Abuja, now the capital of Nigeria. It has developed into a friendly, thriving day school offering a broad and balanced education for boys and girls aged 2 – 11.

The Secondary School was started in 2007 and offers an adapted version of the National Curriculum for England and Wales in Year 7 and 8, CIE Checkpoint in Year 9 and CIE IGCSE in Year 10 and 11. It is a boarding school with a day-student option. Our present cohort of students includes a number who have transferred directly from the Primary School, and a number from different schools in and outside Abuja.

The Regent Primary and Secondary have a combined student enrolment of over 850 students from over 14 countries including America, United Kingdom and France.

The Regent College is the newest addition to The Regent Schools, Abuja.
